MASTERCLASS: CONNECTING PEOPLE TO STRATEGY THROUGH PURPOSE.

To managers who want to know how Management by Missions is applied, who are
interested in carrying out a cultural transformation, who believe in people and who want to
lead from the purpose.
Through “Makonsa’s Business Case ”,a fictional case based on real events about a company
that has to face the arrival of new competitors in the market that threaten the survival of the
company, we will know more about Management by Missions. Mario, who has been the new
CEO of Makonsa for a year, has a clear strategy to carry out: leave low-end products and take a
competitive position in high-end products. To achieve this, the company must develop greater
flexibility, improve its capacity for innovation and increase the quality of service. However, the
culture of the organization – marked by a low level of proactivity and poor communication – can
imply a strong obstacle on the implementation of the new strategy. Faced with this situation,
Mario decides to define a mission that is posted in the company’s offices and meeting rooms.
The online masterclass workshop includes:
– Team work
– Discussion of the case "Makonsa’s mission" (IESE Publishing)
– Practical simulation of the mission management method (DPM)
– Exercises on personal and professional purpose
– Debate with managers of companies that practice DPM.
